John Costa is a dedicated professional with a strong background in athletics administration. Originally from Washington State, he earned his bachelor’s degree from Washington State University, where he honed his skills in sport management during a two-year tenure in the university’s athletics department. With over three years of experience in the field, John has developed expertise in operational management and financial oversight. Most recently, John worked for the Wilmington (NC) Sharks summer college team in the Coastal Plain League, where he successfully managed financial reporting, oversaw point-of-sale systems, and streamlined operational tasks. John brings a commitment to excellence and a passion for athletics to his role as Director of Ticket Sales & Operations in Grand Island.
A Grand Island resident, Scott has taught at Grand Island High School for nearly three decades. Through the 2025 baseball season, he was an owner and operator of the Hastings Sodbusters before selling this past fall to the Diamond Baseball League.
Scott will be active in sponsorship and group sales for the Fightin Cranes as well as spearheading the teams community outreach efforts with schools, not for profits and fundraisers. He will also assist with player recruitment and supervise the Fightin Cranes host family program.
Originally from Lincoln, Scott has been involved with youth baseball and softball for nearly three decades. He had the honor of coaching Major Leaguers Joba Chamberlain and Alex Gordon for the Lincoln Rebels. Scott and his wife, Karen, have 4 children: Kenny, Amanda, Madison, and Allee.
